Casual Street Trading

Registered casual market traders can now pay to trade on the day of their choice through a simple online payment. If you are not registered, you’ll need to follow the steps below, before you can start making online trading day payments.

How to apply

If you have any queries or questions about what to include you can ask the street trading team and they’ll be happy to help. 

What happens next  

If a vacancy is available, we’ll send you a link to pay your registration fee online and ask you to complete a full application form, with supporting documents.

We need to receive both your completed application form and your registration fee before we consider your application.

We’ll then invite you for an informal chat about your application.  Once approved, we’ll ask you to send in any additional required documents and confirm your first trading date.

We’ll arrange for a council officer to meet you prior to setting up on your agreed start date. Please note, casual market trading is not permitted around Arsenal Emirates Stadium, on private land or at the councils pitches in scattered sites. 

Fees and payments

The registration and renewal fee for a casual trader is £30.

There is a further £30 admin fee for any changes to your existing application or additional applications to other markets.

Once registered, you can pay to trade at a particular market on a chosen date by using our dedicated online payment form. 

Once payment is confirmed, you’ll receive a confirmation email with your trading receipt.

You need to show a digital or printed copy receipt to the council officer at your chosen market once you have set up.  

Trading day payments vary in cost, depending on which market you’re registered to trade from

Please make sure that you choose the correct date, and market, before making your payment.

These details cannot be changed once a payment is confirmed and all payments are non-refundable. 

Receipts for the wrong date and/or wrong market will not be accepted by council officers and you won’t be allowed to trade.
