Housing strategy

Our ambition to make Islington a fairer and more equal place starts with everyone in our community having a decent, genuinely affordable and safe place to call home.

Our Housing Strategy 2021-2026: A home for all and the accompanying Action Plan set out our five priorities:

  1. Build new council homes – increase the supply of genuinely affordable, low carbon homes in Islington
  2. Maintain council homes well – providing safe, energy efficient and comfortable homes and estates
  3. Support residents to live well in their homes and communities
  4. Prevent homelessness and support rough sleepers
  5. Standing up for private renters.
