Parking for disabled people and the Blue Badge scheme

How and where to park as a disabled person in Islington including applying for and renewing a Blue Badge, free resident permits and what to do if your Blue Badge is lost or stolen.

Dedicated parking bays for Blue Badge holders

You may be eligible for a dedicated parking bay if:

  • no parking is available within a reasonable distance of your home or workplace
  • you are a Blue Badge holder and you are unable to walk more than 20 metres (a medical assessment may be undertaken)

If your application is successful, installation can take up to six months. This is because we must consult local people first and then complete a number of legal documents before the bay can be installed.
